Spooky Chapters

Since establishing there in 1995, Spooky has become a major community event in the greater Augusta, Georgia area (the “CSRA”). The Spooky CSRA chapter is now so large that it includes over 2700 volunteers annually, who together were able to provide nearly 300,000 meals to area needy. Over the last several years, It’s Spooky To Be Hungry chapters have been started in a number of other cities, primarily in the Southeast. Most were founded by Spooky “alumnae” from the CSRA who relocated to other areas, but wanted to take the Spooky idea with them. Others were started by individuals who heard about us through friends or media. Spooky chapters make a wonderful difference in their communities, enlarging their local networks of caring and compassion.

In 2005, It’s Spooky To Be Hungry® chapters could be found in the following communities, far from the flagship CSRA chapter:

Orlando, Florida
Snellville, Georgia*
Lawrenceville, Georgia*
Cobb County, Georgia
DeKalb County, Georgia
Rome, Georgia
Jackson, Mississippi*
Fayetteville, North Carolina*
Greenwood, South Carolina*
Summerville, South Carolina*
Lexington, South Carolina

* Started by “Spooky alumni”

In 2006, we will also add Norfolk, Virginia, Dallas, Texas, and Salem, Massachusetts to our Spooky network of chapters. To learn more about any existing Spooky chapters, or if you are thinking about starting a chapter in your community, please Contact Us.
